Antonio was born in 1983 in Lecco, he started learning the piano at the age of six at the Istituto Civico Giuseppe Zelioli in Lecco and afterwards at the Scuola Civica San Francesco in Merate. During these years he took the exams of Harmony and Piano at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milan.
He graduated in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico in Milan in 2007.
At the same time he got interested in jazz music. In 2010 he graduated with honors from the Civici Corsi di Jazz in Milan, under the masters Paolo Birro and Franco D’Andrea.
In 2015 he graduated in Jazz with highest marks from the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, under the masters Greg Burk and Antonio Zambrini.
He attended several masterclasses guided by: John Taylor, Kenny Werner, Franco D’Andrea, Stefano Battaglia, Bob Moses, Avishai Coen, Eric Harland, Steve Cardenas.
In 2010 he attended the final competition at the European Jazz Contest with a duo project and in piano solo he was admitted and took part in the Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition in Paris.
In 2013 he was awarded first prize at the contest Chicco Bettinardi For New Italian Jazz Talents organized by Milestone Jazz Club in Piacenza.
He was involved in 2009-2011 in the Civica Jazz Band orchestra directed by Enrico Intra and he had the chance to play with great musicians, such as Enrico Rava, Gianluigi Trovesi, Giovanni Falzone, Andrea Dulbecco, Fabrizio Bosso, Gigi Cifarelli, Riccardo Luppi, Emilio Soana, Giulio Visibelli, Roberto Rossi, Lucio Terzano, Marco Vaggi and Tony Arco. He performed with this orchestra in several important italian theatres: Piccolo Teatro Strehler and Auditorium Gustav Mahler in Milan, and Teatro Verdi in Padova.
He collaborates to Daniele Cortese’s project The Guilty Lab, recording the first album in 2012.
He has joined since 2009 the Monday Orchestra Big Band directed by Luca Missiti, with whom he recorded an album. He has played with well - known musicians: Randy Brecker, Dick Oatts, Mauro Negri, Emanuele Cisi, Rudi Migliardi, Dario Faiella, Paolo Tomelleri, Tullio De Piscopo, Sarah McKenzie.
Furthermore, he collaborates to different projects, such as Andrea Andreoli quintet, Marcella Malacrida quintet, Matteo Frigerio’s Unagi Experience, Giusy Lupis quartet, New X Quintet.
He has founded Prima Luz Duo with the drummer Alberto Pederneschi, devoted to original and improvised music, and their first album “Prima Luz” has been published in 2017 with Felmay Records.
These experiences lead him to develop a personal idea of interplay, which is best expressed in his Trio, with Claudio Ottaviano at the doublebass and Filippo Sala at the drums.
“Canyon”, his first work as a leader, focused on his own compositions for this trio and in piano solo, has been released by Auand Records in September 2016.
He has been teaching modern piano since 2011 at the Accademia di musica Heitor Villa Lobos in Paderno Dugnano.
He also teaches at the Accademia Dimensione Musica in Lainate and at the Scuola di Musica “Corrado Abriani” in Abbiategrasso.
